ZUG (3 February, 2018) — The DAV Foundation is pleased to announce Scorpiox Technologies, based in Toronto, Canada, has joined the DAV Alliance.
The DAV Alliance is a cooperative organization formed and led by the DAV Foundation. Its purpose is to bring together members of the autonomous vehicle industry so that they may collaborate on standards and innovations for DAV’s global AV network.
“We are thrilled at having Scorpiox Technologies join the DAV Alliance,” said Noam Copel, CEO of the DAV Foundation. “Their expertise in urban drone deployment and logistical troubleshooting will be welcome in our discussions around the role autonomous drones will play in our cities, both now and for the future.”
Scorpiox Technologies envisions a world “where drones serve all of us.” Their expertise is in the “last minute, last meter” delivery of goods in urban areas by drone. They provide drones-as-a-service (DaaS) and are focused on scaling logistics and safety solutions for drones in metropolitan areas.
“We feel the DAV Alliance is a solid strategic fit for us at Scorpiox,” said Bashir Khan, CEO and Founder. “We’re well positioned with our engineering and vision, have always loved what blockchain has to offer from a core tech standpoint in this industry, it’s great to have a network of peers helping us with market adoption and efficient growth. We’re looking forward to contributing to the conversation at the DAV Alliance as we move towards the next evolution of transportation in our cities.”
The DAV Alliance exists to serve autonomous vehicle companies by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and expertise in technology, markets, and business development.
Scorpiox Technologies is based out of Toronto, Canada. When it comes to drone deployment in urban areas, the last minute-last meter presents a huge logistical challenge; Scorpiox is at the bleeding edge of creating the necessary digital infrastructure to solve it, so drones can be efficient, safe and scalable in cities throughout the world.
The DAV Foundation’s mission is to promote and support research and development of the DAV network, as well as positioning it as the decentralized autonomous vehicle global standard. The organization is guided by the principles of transparency and openness, and invites the DAV community to help build a new way of transporting goods and people around the globe. The DAV Foundation is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, with representation offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, San Francisco, USA and Vancouver, Canada.
