ZUG (01 March, 2018) — Skysense, a drone infrastructure company with offices in Germany, the U.S. and Italy, has joined the DAV Alliance.
The DAV Alliance is a cooperative organization formed and led by the DAV Foundation. Its purpose is to bring together members of the autonomous vehicle industry so that they may collaborate on standards and innovations for DAV’s global AV network.
“We are excited at the prospect of having Skysense sit at the table with the rest of us in the DAV Alliance,” said Noam Copel, CEO of the DAV Foundation. “Charging infrastructure is a crucial component to widespread adoption of autonomous vehicles. Their insight in this particular vertical will be invaluable.”
Skysense has developed indoor and outdoor drone charging pads and a “Skyport” (drone protective hangar), all components of drone operations infrastructure that will be as necessary to the drone ecosystem as gas stations and parking spaces are for automobiles.
The DAV Alliance exists to serve autonomous vehicle companies by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and expertise in technology, markets, and business development.
Skysense’s business strategy currently focuses on research, development, and production of charging pads and “droneports” that are the core of their turn-key solutions that currently constitute an essential part of an efficient, effective infrastructure and system to automating drone operations. Their product line reflects the anticipated need for drone infrastructure components that will be in demand globally. Their head office is in Berlin.
The DAV Foundation’s mission is to promote and support research and development of the DAV network, as well as positioning it as the decentralized autonomous vehicle global standard. The organization is guided by the principles of transparency and openness, and invites the DAV community to help build a new way of transporting goods and people around the globe. The DAV Foundation is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, with representation offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, San Francisco, USA and Vancouver, Canada.
